Is it only me who wonders about people sometimes? I’m certainly guilty of doing all kinds of things that make other people scratch their heads or look at me sideways, but yesterday I literally shook my head in disbelief.
After finishing my grocery shopping I loaded things into the car and then went to put the shopping cart back in one of those little huts where you push in the cart and plug into the one in front so your quarter is refunded. Usually that works out well.
But this time, as I pushed my cart across the lot, I could see a long line of carts extending from the hut out into the driving lane of the parking lot. When I got closer I could see that there were two short rows of carts inside the shelter, but instead of hooking onto one of those rows, someone had left their cart pushed up against the front post.
Then someone else, just as lazy as the first, hooked their cart onto the one against the post, and so on, and so on, and so on … until the line was so long that the carts were blocking the driving lane.
This kind of inconsideration makes me see red. For the sake of walking a few more feet, the carts could have been put away properly, and on a busy Friday afternoon, traffic would have been unimpeded as shoppers looked for parking spots.
That’s it. The end. Just had to get it off my chest.
